Here comes the journey
After studying and living in Italy, Ling realized that there is no one-size-fits-all answer to life. Each person is unique and our life phase should not be restricted to one status quo.
While she was walking on the streets of Milan, she saw the tattoo heat in this city. She always loved the idea of tattoos but wasn't able to make a permanent decision on one. "I love a berlin-based Korean DJ, her name is Peggy Guo, I am very much impressed by her music, her sense of freestyle, and her fully tattooed body. Tattoo gives us an opportunity to uniquely express our souls."
One day she found that there is a tattoo ink made by extracting the juice from the jagua fruit, which is native to South America. This Jagua tattoo ink is commonly used to create temporary tattoos that last for several weeks. She was very enthusiastic about the fruit and thought maybe it could be a way to break down the barrier of one-status-quo body art, and also to help people express their free selves via non-permanent tattoos.
Thus, together with her other 2 Bocconi university friends, Alessandro and Wei, she started CiaoInk as a way to help others express their unique identity through tattoos - no matter who they are or where they are located. Later, Rosanna joined as creative advisor.
After endless hours of research, work, discussions, tattoo tests, working on the tattoo design pieces by heart, and finally on the 20th of August 2022 CiaoInk comes to life, initiated with more than 180+ tattoo pieces.

Our mission
Via our 2-week natural plant-based tattoo ink, we want to make artistic tattoos wearable and affordable; we make efforts in understanding different cultures and preserving fairness and unique identities.

A new temporary tattoos tech
Unlike other chemical temporary tattoos, our tattoo ink is EU cosmetic certified and it is derived from a plant-based formula and lasts much longer and looks real. The main ingredient is Jagua fruit, a temporary tattoo ink ingredient from South America. CiaoInk wants to bring this magic fruit to Europe and to share it with you. After the 24-36 hour ink development on your skin, it looks like a real tattoo gets healed and stays with you for 1.5 - 2 weeks. More importantly, our tattoo is applicable to all skin types!

Sustainability and recyclable packaging
We want to be compliant to the sustainability standards🌱 (environmental, social and governance) already in the early stage, thus, we spend some time on designing our packaging by heart♻️♻️. We don’t ship with plastic boxes or bags, instead we offer paper envelopes for shipping: An outer well-designed envelope (brown recyclable paper) and a greeting card (vanilla grass paper). The size just fits perfectly. And we still think there are rooms to improve with the packaging design, stay tuned!

A wish that we can bridge the continents and bring something real, beautiful and together.
We make each tattoo art by heart and work together with designers and artists across the globe. For the initiation of CiaoInk, we corporated a few designers and tattoo artists in Europe and Asia. Some of them are quite famous in their fields. We are still growing our artist community and welcome more representative designers and illustrators to join us.
We also help tattoo artists to grow their business via this temporary tattoo hack so that the customer can better feel your design and eventually get inked.
